The Ham of my Dermatomyositis

On April 8th, 2024, I was diagnosed with a rare disease called dermatomyositis. It is an autoimmune genetic disease that causes the body to attack its own muscles.
Thus, in this painting, I reveled in the amalgamation of acrylics, oils, and oil pastels to shape this enigmatic vision of contemplating one of my muscles before it gets damaged.
Embracing surrealism, my brushstrokes wove a tale of contrast and intrigue. The celestial blue hues dance with earthly tones, encapsulating a dreamscape that dares the observer to ponder beyond reality.
This piece embodies a vibrant energy of being in control of a tricky prognosis, and taking the lemons that life throws in our direction with elegance and grace.
